Former Vice President Aliu Mahama Dies  16.11.2012

News coming in has it that former Vice PresidentAlhaji Aliu Mahama, has passed on this morning at the Korle-Bu teaching hospital.

Alhaji Aliu Mahama served under the erstwhile Kufuor administration from 2001 to January 7 2009.

The Accra Mayor said the collapsed building was commenced in 1997 and completed in 2008; and insisted that the owner, Nana Boadu Ayeboafo, was not given the requisite permit to put up the building...

So, the big question would be: Who was in power at this time (1997-Dec 2001)... 

And did NOTHING..?

Hope fades - As of Friday evening, rescuers could not also communicate with four other people trapped in a mangled elevator, with whom they could communicate earlier in the day as they were no longer responding to their calls.

10.11. 2012 - Melcom sacks grieving workers


Four people have been identified as still alive under the rubble in the collapsed Melcom building, days after the disaster. The four are said to be trapped in a mangled elevator.

18 dead - so far! More than 80 Alive - so far!
